Privacy Policy in Plain English

I value the privacy of readers, subscribers, and commenters of this website. There is an expectation — a requirement — of trust and security regarding the private information of anyone who uses this site or subscribes to its content.

In plain English, I do not share, sell, or otherwise permit access to identifiable details of subscribers or users.

When subscribing to the e-letter, users are asked to provide name, country, email, and affiliation. This information is for distribution of the e-letter and for my personal knowledge to personally tailor, when possible, content to audience segments. Such segmentation will be done transparently with visibility to all to opt-in or opt-out. For example, there may be a one-off or periodic email to people at State / Foreign Ministry.

This site uses Google Analytics. Because your privacy is important, the ‘demographic and interest reporting’ features of Google Analytics are not enabled and will not be enabled. Standard information of web users is collected for reports, such as browser type, network provider, returning or new visitor, etc.

Other cookies may be available from this site related to the WordPress engine, MailChimp (for the newsletter), or perhaps TypeKit (additional fonts from Adobe for site readability). You should see no cookies for advertisers or other trackers. If you do, let me know.

There will be links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by me. I am not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of these other sites.

I reserve the right to modify this privacy statement at any time. Any material change will be posted on the blog and emailed to subscribers.
