Outreach to the Muslim world is certainly an important topic in the broader discussion of U.S. public diplomacy; it’s unfortunate, however, that the organizers decided to hold the event on the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah (New Year’s Day), thus precluding the participation in the conference of experts of the Jewish faith.
